Sam Sohbatzadeh, a 14-year-old child, was shot in the head with live ammunition and killed on 18 Dey 1404 (January 8, 2026) during popular protests in the city of Qods (Qaleh Hasan Khan), Tehran Province, by the military-security forces of the Islamic Republic. The funeral was held on 20 Dey (January 10, 2026) in the village of Lenbar, Khalkhal County, Ardabil Province. Sam had been forced to leave school and was working to help his family cover living expenses.
